I worked on reinventing NYC Phone booth project with my talented friends; Christina Carter, Harry Chen, Jiyoung Jung and Max Ma.

THE CONCEPT:

Since the advent of the internet, access to global scale data has increased exponentially.  At the same time,  accessing local scale data seems to be getting harder and harder.  One possible explanation for this is the imbalanced distribution of technology in our society.  There is an opportunity to reinvigorate local information sharing by turning the payphone into a tool for location-based communication.  The mission of the Yellow Line is to do just that.  By providing a platform to easily share information, buy, sell and explore, the Yellow Line will help residents reconnect with and reinvest in their local communities, while helping to revitalizing the local economy at the same time.  

Just as the yellow cab is an iconic symbol of New York City, the Yellow Line can become a symbol of connectivity within the city.

Yellow Line users can easily post an item or service to the Community Market via the web or mobile app.  Users can access and search the Community Market at their local Yellow Line smart booth for a small fee.
